Purple Interior Design
Purple for interior design, especially when combined with other colours, stimulates creativity, and it inspires a positive mood. It is a bold colour allowing you to express your individuality and create a luxurious feel for any room in the home.
It is important to note that purple can easily dominate any colour or tone. Its strength can be easily manipulated through adjustment in shade and used in combination with other colours. So it is always worth investing a little time coordinating what goes with [your shade of] purple to ensure a perfect choice of colors.
Accent colors breathe life into an interior setting and purple with its many variants are perfect in this regard. Using a dash of purple can transform any room in your home in a significant and positive fashion. Balance, as always, is the key to getting it just right!
Purple Chic
Purple is the colour of the spring and a colour of the flowers. It is also a good colour for use in meditation offering a calming quality that promotes peace of mind. This in part is why, in interior design, the use of the colour purple is both popular and chic.
Every December for the past 18 years, the Pantone Color Institute has forecast the shade it believes will be trending across fashion, interiors and design over the next 12 months. In 2018 a shade of purple was chosen as Colour of the Year, and it was not for the first time.
